This is a website with no name and no importance. This website is an experience meant to reverse the process of information gathering. Instead of entering a site that’s already built and where information is presented in front of you, you start from nothing and build from there. This creates explorations, some that take you from place to place, others that add another dimension to the website, and others that serve no practical purpose. There is no information presented that would be useful or applicable. The goal of the site is to just move along and create a unique experience for yourself each time you log on. It’s a site restricted to no one and intended for nothing. There’s nothing to look for, the purpose is to build a place where you wander around, exploring option by option until you decide you want to stop. It’s meant to provide the user with an increasing number of “things” on the screen to fill the space that essentially started as empty. The goal of this site is to flip the idea of having a website with a header, body, and footer. It mocks the stereotypical pop-ups that appear on nearly every company’s website and makes satirical versions of them on this site. It’s to create a place with no sensical color scheme, typography, or structure, and gives the explorer agency to change certain aspects of the site.
The site is meant to be understandable, but not really. The language and questions may be familiar but the outcomes are random. You put your information in, and you won’t really know what happens with it until you experience it. The buttons lack any orientation, yet they still function in a slightly predictable way. The way it portrays new information is illogical, but still allows the user to move forward.
There is obviously an ending point, where nothing else could be explored. This is due to the nature of the site, which is exploring different options until you can’t and don’t want to. In the same way, there can always be additions to this site, since the structure of it is open-ended, it becomes easy to add more links to the chain. As more options are added, the more chaotic it becomes, to the point where it’d be unintelligible. The next version of the site will be the same version with more options, branching out further and further. The next versions will hopefully have more complex interactions and more bizarre situations, as one part of the website is for it to spiral out of control. While it might not be overwhelming at this stage, its path to growth will naturally make it.
This site serves as an experimental project to display different techniques and options that can be explored, in a very boundless way. Excluding the language used in the site, there are no rules. The intention of this website is obviously recreational, yet provides us a non-typical format to what we usually expect when we enter a site.
